Women in the Central Mental Hospital are locked up for 12 hours at night in cell-like rooms and have to ring for nurses to go to the toilet at night, an inspection report by the Mental Health Commission found.
Clondalkin to benefit from €1 million HSE investment

Hire nurse graduates to address 'cutbacks tsunami'

The founder of the Irish Association of Suicidology, Dr John Connolly, has said teenage suicide tends to be a more impulsive act, and that alcohol can lead to an increase in that impulsivity.
City fire crews deal with one suicide a week over recession

A Dublin fire fighter has revealed there has been a huge rise in suicides since the recession hit. The officer, who wishes to remain anonymous, says financial worries, marriage breakups and custody battles are contributing to the tragic carnage across the city.
